Hey Ninja

When going over names for the comic, the main point we wanted to focus on is that the characters are handmade by Amu. We also understood that we’d need a name where we could get an appropriate URL. When deciding on Amu’s World, I grabbed the domain and forwarded it along to where the comic’s hosted. Since punctuation of the sort that involves apostrophes isn’t possible in a domain name, we just went with spelling it out.

It was later brought to our attention that a simple mistaken letter could send potential visitors to another type of website entirely, where upon much hilarity may ensue. Hilarity, or the startling realization that someone’s made a terrible mistake. It never clicked, and the thought never crossed my mind as I’d set everything up. Enter the new domain for the comic:

The comic will still be titled Amu’s World, but from this point on is your point of entry (so, so subtle) for the comic. Thankfully we haven’t done much in the way of paper advertising, so we don’t need to have anything reprinted.

This awkwardness is brought to you by the letters A, M, S, and the number 6.02×10^23.

Photo Phorgot!

Monday, April 6th, 2009

So I managed to forget to do a photo on Friday. Just slipped my mind, but I promise to have a late one up sometime this evening. My brain’s been a jumbled mess for a few days and after a tremendously busy weekend I’m finally getting back on track. Sorry about the delay.

Re: I Did It Again

Today’s comic is brought to you by real life. It’s pretty much entirely autobiographical, this one. I hate these things. Whether it’s a sympathy card, a get well card, a birthday card, a farewell card, or any other form of thing I have to sign I loathe the process of trying to think of something to write other than just my name.

Just signing my name says about me, “Somebody stuck this in front of my face so I put the Hancock on there ’cause, you know, whatever.” I’ve been known to make the person handing the card to me wait a few minutes while I thought of something clever, witty, funny, heartfelt, mushy, what have you. The entire production makes me feel very on the spot, and if it’s one thing I cannot do it’s perform under pressure. This said, last week I almost wrote “oops” on a sympathy card. For real.

Re: Details Are Blurry

In the past couple of weeks I’ve been gearing up to start delving more into my photography, to the point of booking shoots for this month. Granted, these are free, ‘favor’ shoots, but I’m hoping to get the people I’m doing them for on board with treating them like the shoots are pro jobs and they are clients paying for them. I’d like everybody to be on the same page as far as dedication to produce quality is concerned. I got myself pretty busy, and find it hard not to lose track of stuff.

In today’s comic the bunny peeps know what that’s like, focusing so much on what they think will happen they lose track of what’s going on. I know what that’s like. I was looking so far ahead to the other things I have this month that I forgot about the comic until late yesterday evening and had to put something together that was entirely unwritten and unplanned. It turned into a very late night, but I got it done.

Also, I was sent a link I wanted to post here, but I can’t get e-mail at work. Will be posting it later.

Back Home, And Sorry!

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

I just noticed I broke the comic by posting the last Photo Phriday in the wrong category. So sorry about that and any confusion it may have caused. Typically Photo Phriday hits the blog section, and not the comic section. Big oops!

As I work on this week’s comic this evening I’ll be writing a Nekocon report from my perspective as someone in the Artist’s Alley who didn’t get out much to do anything else. It will be mostly Alley-centric with some general convention observations. I actually have a bit to say both positive and constructive.

Also, if you haven’t done so already please check out our Fan Art Contest. The contest ends this Friday, so make sure you get your entries in for the prize. As always, thanks so much for reading!
