While at Katsucon, Amu and I picked up something were very excited about. I cannot express enough how much we enjoy our Kotatsu. Best thing in the house, well now Ninja (not to mention other characters and dolls and such) has one of his own.

Ninja’s been known to snack on things not so traditional. Here he is about to chow down on some donuts while caving the roof of his mouth in trying to slurp down a thick milkshake.

Maybe you’d be interested in what Ninja could get up to around YOUR home. Well keep checking back because sometime soon Amu hopes to have some Ninja amigurumi for sale soon. I’ll keep everybody updated.

Ninja doesn’t think about himself very much. There’s just too much going on. If asked to represent how he feels about himself on a regular day, though, he’s pretty on the money.

A realistic self-image has kept Ninja sane in this crazy world he’s found himself in. He pretty much sees things how they are. Pretty Zen, actually.

So I’m back on schedule with Photo Phriday, and you get your picture on time this week. Thanks to Amu, I also had a really fun idea to work with for today’s image.

Later this month Amu’s World will be making its first convention appearance at Balticon. Amu’s been working frantically crocheting ninjas and Katamari Princes to sell. When she decided she needed help we turned to the only other person with sufficient knowledge of amigurumi ninja anatomy.

Not An Ecuadorian Holiday

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

I have an hour long commute on public transportation to get to work everyday. Mostly I listen to music or read, but today I opted for something different. I bring you THAT THING I DID ON THE TRAIN TODAY:

It made sense that Ecuador wouldn’t celebrate Cinco de Mayo, and this little thing popped in my head. I decided to give drawing the characters a try, and this pretty much sums up the extent of my artistic ability. Since I was just goofing around I didn’t consider that it was on lined paper, and I didn’t want to clean it up to pretend I took it seriously.

That said, it sparked the idea that I may want to do this sort of thing a little more often. If anyone would like to see me do a drawn, weekly mini strip leave a comment, send an e-mail, or hit me up on teh Twitters. If there’s enough interest I’ll give this a shot and see where it goes. And who knows? I may learn to draw!

Finally got off my butt and took photos for the Cast page. Today’s Photo Phriday is a sort of teaser I thought would be funny. Looking at it you may be reminded of a popular family television show from the ’70s.

After putting it together I’d managed to realize this is the second time I’ve photographed Warusan without his cigar. And this is kind of an important photo. I’ll be taking a replacement one tomorrow, but if you look closely above he’s slightly frowning. He misses his security nicotine.

Photo Phriday 29 – Caught!

Friday, June 5th, 2009

This week’s photo is coming later in the day than I’d like, but it’s up. My schedule’s been pretty hectic lately with a convention, nerd camp, and personal bits. As a result the blog’s been quiet. That changes this weekend when I get some things together.

Ninja’s been caught. Truth is, embarrassed as I am to admit it, he got away. He’s a crafty one, that Ninja.

Ninja’s pretty good at what he does. His ninja skills rank pretty high, and he’s quite the fighter. Never let it be said, however, that he doesn’t have a softer side for softer things.

The hat’s part of a project that Amu is working on for her doll hobby. It was originally made for a Puki, but as it turns out Puki heads and Amu’s World character heads are practically identical in size. Sometimes we borrow the Puki stuff for the comic. But if the hats fit… Yeah.
