Wow, the last time I blogged was last Friday. I’ve got to get better about that. So today I wanted to take a photo involving something that Amu is going to have with her at Katsucon. While we aren’t working the con, we’ll be bringing some amigurumi and other crocheted things with us to put in the Art Show. Originally I wanted to take a photo of the project she was working on at the moment, but you’ll have to wait to see that at Katsucon if you happen to be there (and happen to have your ID proving you’re 18 or older.) Instead I decided to mess around a bit.

Katamari Noir? Maybe. Just having a bit of fun with some of the amigurumi sitting around the house.

Also, if you happen to be attending Katsucon next weekend, be sure to check out a panel on Friday evening from 7pm-8pm on Photo-based webcomics. I’ll be on the panel with Darren Gendron who does the webcomic Dear Pirate.

Book Of Binja

Checking my RSS reader one last time before heading to bed I see something that reminds me I need to start compiling ninja related stuffs. I’ll be listing and linking other webcomics involving ninja, and other sites that are ninja related. In this case, there’s a hint of ninja in a strip that is otherwise void of such things.

Today’s Book of Biff strip sees Biff suit up in full stealthy regalia. There’s a lot I like about this comic, and I think part of it is how easy it is to relate to Biff, despite the unrealistic situations he finds himself in. Pop on over and check it out, often, because it’s awesome.

Welp, it’s been another week and nary a post since last Friday. Truth told, I’ve been very busy preparing for Katsucon and helping Amu out with some of her projects. To complicate things, I’ve never been entirely sure what to say in the blog. Do I keep it comic oriented? Amigurumi focused? Do I rant and rave and babble as I might do on a personal blog? I haven’t figured out the balance yet in my head. If there’s anything you folks would like me to talk about, let me know. I could use some help here.

This photo was taken this past weekend. In fact, if you follow my Flickr photos, you’ll have noticed I posted this there already. I wanted to knock this week’s photo out ahead of time since we’d be at the convention and I wouldn’t be able to guarantee the photo posted on time. I plan on taking oodles of photos during the convention, so keep watching the blog after this weekend to catch when I post some of them.

Pizza Anyone?

I promise that this week I’ll have a full write-up of my time at Katsucon. There’s a lot to talk about and a lot to share, so I’m taking my time collecting my thoughts. In the meantime, I’d like to point your attention to a little something.

These Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle amigurumi take a few things we really like and put them together. We love ninjas. We love amigurumi. We REALLY love TMNT. Truth told, I’m not entirely sure why I’m sharing this, because if you guys don’t buy them, I WILL!

Pompadour – Nothing To Worry About

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

Some may ask, why does Warusan have a pompadour? Well, alright nobody’s asked that, but in case you were wondering, here’s a Peter Bjorn video that provides insight into the inspiration behind Warusan’s hair.

Amu’s been spending a lot of time checking out watashi to tokyo, and with good reason. She occasionally finds little gems like this.

While at Katsucon, Amu and I picked up something were very excited about. I cannot express enough how much we enjoy our Kotatsu. Best thing in the house, well now Ninja (not to mention other characters and dolls and such) has one of his own.

Ninja’s been known to snack on things not so traditional. Here he is about to chow down on some donuts while caving the roof of his mouth in trying to slurp down a thick milkshake.

Maybe you’d be interested in what Ninja could get up to around YOUR home. Well keep checking back because sometime soon Amu hopes to have some Ninja amigurumi for sale soon. I’ll keep everybody updated.
